I see this every week with new students who join my AI courses — they’ve been using ChatGPT for months and still can’t point to a single hour saved. That’s not a tool problem. That’s a usage problem.The biggest mistake I see is treating ChatGPT like a search engine rather than a thinking partner. When you type “best CRM for real estate agents” you get a generic list. But when you say “I run a 3-person real estate team in Dubai, we manage 40 leads a week from Meta ads, and our biggest bottleneck is follow-up after viewings — what CRM features should I prioritize and why” — you get advice that’s actually useful. Context is everything. ChatGPT has no idea who you are unless you tell it.The second mistake is accepting the first response. In my experience training agents and consultants across the Gulf, the people who get results from AI are the ones who push back. They say “make this more direct”, “give me 3 different angles on this”, “rewrite this for someone who’s skeptical”. The first output is a draft, not a final answer. Treat it that way.Third — and this one surprises people — most users never give ChatGPT a role. There’s a massive difference between asking ChatGPT a question cold versus opening with “You are a senior Google Ads specialist with 10 years of experience in performance marketing for high-ticket services. I’m going to describe a campaign and I want your expert critique.” That single sentence changes everything about the quality of what comes back.
